Snapchat is a camera and ephemeral messaging application popular among young adults.  To understand how users perceive and interact with news content on Snapchat, we conducted semi-structured interviews focusing on their use of Snapchat during breaking news events. Our research aims to explains how users consume and produce breaking news content on Snapchat and describe how users’ mental models of how Snapchat works and the influence that may have on the spread of breaking news.
